Health and Safety Guidelines and Policies


Health and safety is always a top priority for us at the Los Angeles Marathon. Below are the guidelines we will be implementing in alignment with LA County and City to ensure a safe race weekend experience for all runners, volunteers, staff, vendors, and spectators.

As of March 5, you no longer need to show proof of negative COVID test or vaccination to participate. This information is updated as of March 5.

Health & Fitness Expo: March 18 - 19, Dodger Stadium

The Expo will be held outdoors at Dodger Stadium and is open to the general public.

It is recommended that all attendees of the Expo wear face coverings.

As of March 5, you do not need proof of vaccine or negative COVID-19 test to attend the Health & Fitness Expo. COVID testing will be available at the Health & Fitness Expo at cost to the participant.

All participants (except those who purchased Start Line Hospitality) must attend the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, March 18 or Saturday, March 19 to pick up your bib. You no longer need to provide proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test to participate.


LA Big 5K: March 19, Dodger Stadium

There are no COVID testing or proof of vaccination requirements to attend or participate in the LA Big 5K.

It is recommended that all attendees and participants of the LA Big 5K wear face coverings before and after the race, it is not required for participants on course.

Los Angeles Marathon & Charity Challenge 13.1: March 20, Dodger Stadium

- Facial coverings are recommended at all event areas outside of the secure Start line area for spectators, media, participants (when not on the race course), and staff

- Proof of vaccination is no longer required (as of March 11) for access to indoor areas of Dodger Stadium including the Club, Suite, and Club Level of Dodger Stadium. Providing proof of negative test is not sufficient to gain access to these areas

- As of March 5, participants no longer need to show proof of vaccine or negative covid test to participate

HEALTH & SAFTEY CHECK IN

All participants (except those who have pre-purchased Race Day Hospitality) must attend the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, March 18 or Saturday, March 19 to pick up their bib number.

There will be no health and safety check in at the 2022 Los Angeles Marathon.

FACIAL COVERINGS

Face coverings must be worn at all times inside the Dodger Stadium Start line secured area except when actively eating or drinking. Participants may remove face coverings after crossing the Start line.

Face coverings are recommended at all times for spectators, media, staff, volunteers, and participants (when not on the course).

Do I need a vaccine to participate in the 2022 Los Angeles Marathon?

No, you do not need to be vaccinated and as of March 5, you no longer need to provide proof of vaccination.

What do I need to show proof of vaccine?

No. As of March 5, you do not need to show proof of vaccination to participate.

Do I need to wear a mask at the event?

Masks are recommended at all areas of the event. Participants do not need to wear a mask on course.

Do participants on course need to wear a facial covering?

No, participants do not need to wear a mask once they cross the start line.

Do I need to be vaccinated or show negative covid-19 test to attend the Health & Fitness Expo?

No you do not.

Do I need to be vaccinated or show negative covid-19 test to attend the LA Big 5K?

No you do not.

Is there any place you do need to show proof of vaccine or negative covid test?

Yes, proof of vaccination is required for access to the Club, Suite, and Club Level of Dodger Stadium. Providing proof of negative test is not sufficient to gain access to these areas.

Can my family and friends attend the marathon with me if they do not have a vaccine or negative covid-19 test?

Yes, but they are encouraged to wear a mask.

What happens if I test positive for COVID-19 within 2-weeks of the event?

Participants who test positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of the event (on or after Monday, March 7, 2022) will have an opportunity to transfer their registration to virtual participation There are no refunds. All requests must be submitted by Saturday, March 19 and include proof of a COVID-19 result. Any requests submitted after March 19 will not be accepted.

Will there be Gear Check on race morning?

Yes! We will have Gear Check on race morning.

If I have Race Day Hospitality, do I need to attend the Health & Fitness expo for any reason?

No, if you purchased Race Day Hospitality you do not need to attend the Health & Fitness Expo. You will have access to Gear Check race morning. You will also need to have your Proof of Vaccine or Negative Covid Test checked race morning. If you are taking Los Angeles Marathon Shuttles, you will have that checked prior to getting on the shuttle. If you are arriving to Dodger Stadium on your own, you will have it checked before entering the secure area.

I am taking shuttles to the start line, do I need to wear a mask?

Masks are required while on the shuttles to the start line.
