Jocelyn Rivas

Jocelyn Rivas, a 56-time marathoner finisher, discovered her love for running as part of Students Run LA back in 2013. Since then, she has been running marathons and hopes to break two Guinness World Records, to become the youngest person and youngest woman to run 100 marathons. While also breaking the record of becoming the Youngest Latina to 100 marathons. Jocelyn hopes to continue inspiring kids in her community to follow their dreams, especially young girls. She hopes her journey also inspires others to believe in themselves and to start their own personal journey.

What is your passion and why?

Learning about the Tech World - As a Support Engineer in a tech company, I continue to love learning about artificial intelligence, deep learning and my goal is always to learn something new everyday. Sharing about Veganism - Being vegan is now part of me and I'm happy to share ways on how to eat more plant-based, make meals that satisfy your cravings and educate people about veganism. Running Long Distance - I feel blessed to have the opportunity to put one foot in front of the other. Running has become a part of me and I hope to grow old with it. Running makes me feel complete, it makes me feel accomplished but most importantly, it gives my life a meaning. Running makes me happy and I love it.

How do you hope to inspire others?

I hope to inspire others by sharing my passion of running with my South LA community and sharing my story of struggle. I hope through my story and journey, others start their own personal journey.
